Exploring art forms, taking adventures with paper as art, creating books, fiber arts, color and other creative expressions can be fun, insightful, and transformative Art making supports personal wellness, intellectual growth and can deepen spiritual practices through the processes of active and focused creation that allow the creative player to be in the present moment effortlessly.

~Contemplative Folds 2nd Sundays
11:00 AM to 1:00 PM -Oct. 9th, Nov. 13th, Dec. 11th $36 per session. This workshop will focus on folding techniques for anyone interested in design. Each month we will explore basic fold structure. As you focus and relax you will develop a deeper understanding of principles of building. Explore the possibilities of paper and your imagination playing with visual math. ~Lovely Parabola - Origami Hyperbolic Paraboloid Thursdays, October 13th, November 10th, December 8th, 4:30 - 7:00 PM - $33.00 per session - Youth - $27 per session- You will learn how to fold a hyperbolic paraboloid (parabola). This folding exercise originated with the Bauhaus school (notably from Josef Albers) to encourage students to experiment with form and structure.
FLEXAGONS - books that fold up in magical ways
and reveal secrets when opened
2nd Saturdays - 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM - Oct. 8, Nov. 12th, Dec. 10th. $33.00 per session. Each class will show you how to make one magical flexible book form. You will learn to make the Tetraflexagon, Square Flexagon, Cross Flexagon, Circle Flexagon and if time allows, the little Flippy Card (not really a flexagon)

Gratitude makes us happier. When happy, we are more appreciative with deeper self esteem; physically and mentally healthier, more vital, optimistic and energetic. We are more able to be present in the now of our lives. This workshop is an opportunity to allow yourself to create a space to intentionally focus on the goodness in your life. You will create your own unique Gratitude Journal with a hardbound cover to cultivate and express your gratitude through your affirming words and art. Art is healing! We will explore ways to use your journal to uplift and support your health and well being and the craft of writing affirmations, and if time allows write one or a few to get things started. Bring to class special images you feel inspired to use in collaging your book cover. If you have these bing them along - a bone folder, pencils and non-toxic unscented markers, pens, scissors, small objects and specialty papers you might want to incorporate onto and into your book. ~Paper Engineering Workshop - Learn how to construct moveable paper models for your books and art work. First used in the teaching science, geography and medicine, today's paper engineer may be creating pop-up books, kinetic sculpture, working on medical device design or auto and space technology. Simple book structures can form the basis for creative investigation and artistic expression. We will explore simple sewn, adhesive, and non-adhesive book structures, plus paper decorating techniques.
